Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Atif on Tuesday presided over a meeting of Board of Governors of Abbottabad Public School in the Office of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Shehzad Arbab here in Peshawar.
Chief Secretary also participated and expressed his personal interest in the meeting. The overall performance of Abbottabad Public School and College was reviewed in the meeting. During course of discussion, Minister Education directed that deficit in the budget of the school be decreased on priority basis and no leniency would be tolerated as present PTI government’s first priority was to deliver cheap and standard education in all educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
To improve quality of education in Abbottabad Public School and College, the Finance Department was directed to extend full cooperation in this regard, 15% increase in salary of staff was approved, hostel damaged in 2005 earthquake be repaired by consultants as soon as possible, post of principal on permanent basis for Abbottabad Public School be advertised within one month.
It was also decided to tackle the matter of promotion and upgradation with Finance Department on priority basis so that grievances could be addressed at latest.
