KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Homeopathic Physicians Society (PHPS) Dr Javed Shah on Wednesday urged the federal government to take steps for immediately making functional the Faculty of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine System at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST).
He expressed these views while talking to the mediamen at his clinic. He said Higher Education Commission (HEC) had established Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine System Faculty at FUUAST with his efforts few years ago, but unfortunately it could not be made properly functional so far.
He said homeopathic medicine system could not be furnished in Pakistan due to lack of governments support. He said homeopathic doctors were facing hardship to find jobs in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He stressed the need of homeopathic medicine education system up-gradation in the country to produce quality doctors. He said with the functioning of faculty at FUUAST, quality homeopathic doctors could be produced, which would provide treatment to poor people at cheap rates.
Dr Javed Shah said 150,000 homeopathic doctors had been registered in Pakistan so far and if government supported the homeopathic medicine system in the county, the department would become backbone of health in future.
He demanded of the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister to promote the homeopathic medicine system in Pakistan and issue necessary instaurations to all universities to establish HEC recommended Bachelor Program in all institutions.
He further demanded promotion of homeopathic pharmaceutical industry in the country in order to generate income from medicine export worldwide.
