Call to rid Karachiites of traffic jams

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami JI General Secretary Karachi Naseem Siddiqui has demanded of the provincial government and other authorities concerned to take effective measures in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic on main arteries of the city.

In a statement issued here on Monday, JI General Secretary Karachi expressed his deep concern over the routine traffic jams on roads and urged the officials concerned to find out a permanent solution to the problem so that the people could get a sigh of relief.

Citing an example of traffic jams at Teen Hatti and its adjacent areas here yesterday, Siddiqui said that the commuters had suffered tremendous mental and physical agony due to the massive traffic gridlock.

He said that the ambulances having patients could also not reach hospitals timely due to the traffic jams and precious lives being lost due to this nuisance. Children, women and elderly persons are also trapped in the badly traffic jams on different roads in the city and face tremendous mental agony.

He urged Sindh government and traffic police department to evolve an effective strategy to provide relief to the people from traffic jams.
