Call to withdraw oil price hike decision

KARACHI: Karachi Transport Action Committee President Mohammad Ashraf Banglori, Chaudhry Mazhar Hussain, Tanzeem Khan and Nazir Banglori while strongly condemning the decision to raise prices of petroleum products from 1st August 2013 and demanded its withdrawal with immediate effect.

In a statement, they demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to halt decision to raise prices of petroleum products by rejecting OGRA summary in this regard with immediate effect.

They said that the oil prices at international market had stabilized but it was irony that in Pakistan, preparations were being made to hike them without any justification. The governments worldwide provide relief to their people on the holy occasions but in Pakistan, profiteers and hoarders are being allowed to mint illegal money, which is matter of great concern.

They asked government to come forward with positive approach and provide relief to the people at least on the holy occasion of Eid by withdrawing decision to raise prices of petroleum products.
