QUETTA: Police has nabbed a group of children used in bomb explosions in Quetta. During a targeted operation eleven activists of banned United Baloch Army were also arrested while eight terrorists made good their escape. Majority of those arrested included children.
This was stated by Capital City Police Officer Zuber Mahmood at a Press conference here Wednesday.
He said police was tipped that UBA carries out terrorists activities by small children and has targeted law enforcing agencies in Quetta city through children of young ages under the supervision of Naseer Bangulzai and Shoaib Lehri.
CCPO said UBA activists gathered at Killi Khali Angoori Bagh last night. Police raided there and arrested eleven terrorists Babar Ali, Munir Ahmed, Muhammad Azeem, Muhammad Shoaib Lehri, Aamir Khan, Javaid Ahmed, Muhammad Sabir, Faisal, Niaz Muhammad, Baryali and Abdul Shakoor.
He said eight terrorists Abdul Ghani Bangulzai, Zaman Jattak, Naseer alias Khurma, Jameel Muhammad Hasani, Saadullah, Izzat Bangulzai, Abdul Rasool and Mujahid escaped from the area.
Police recovered rocket 107 mm 4, hand grenade 2, explosive material around 10 Kg, explosive rod, anti personnel mines detonator, chemicals, safety fuse wire.
Arrested persons made important revelations. They admitted explosive using 10 Kg explosive in Wahdat Colony on Dec 8, 2012 in which three persons were injured. They also planted explosive material weighing 15/20 Kg at Bacha Khan chowk. It claimed eleven lives and 67 injuries including 4 FC personnel.
He aid progress has been made in the Hazara town and Alamdar road bomb explosion and soon we would reach to accused.
He said steps were underway to apprehend abductors of MPA sultan Tareen. He said a team headed by DIG Investigation Mobeen Ahmed was probing death of District Election Commissioner Ziaullah Qasmi. Replying to a question he said 529 secret cameras were being installed in Quetta City. So far 32 camera have been installed which are insufficient.
