CCP official wins Research Competitive Grant Award

Islamabad: Dr. Adil Khan Miankhel Senior Economic Advisor at the Competition Commission of Pakistan CCP has won a highly competitive research grant award during the second round of Call for Proposals under the ‘Pakistan Strategy Support Program’ PSSP administered by International Food Policy Research Institute IFPRI, Washington DC, says a press release.

A call for proposals for the second round of Competitive Grants focused on “Policy Research to Support Sustained Economic Growth” was made in August 2012. A Research Advisory Committee RAC comprising of leading national and international academics and researchers evaluated the grant proposals.

Around 200 applications were received from universities and research institutions from all over Pakistan and around the world. After the second round of reviews by the RAC members, 33 proposals were shortlisted and presented at a conference titled “Second Research Competitive Grants Conference” on February 810, 2013 in Islamabad.

Taking the presentations into account, the Research Advisory Committee after consultations with its members, finalized the selection of 20 applicants an acceptance rate of 10% and the Award ceremony was held on April 19, 2013 in Islamabad.
