China sends relief Consignment for affectees

Islamabad: In wake of earthquake in Balochistan occurred on the 24th September 2013, seriously affecting Awaran and Kech Districts, Chinese Government has extended relief assistance to Pakistan to express solidarity and to mitigate human sufferings in Balochistan.

The Chinese Government will be sending three flights carrying relief assistance each weighing 90 tons approximately. The first relief flight reached Faisal Air force Base Karachi airport at 1930hrs on 28th September followed by second relief cargo at 2045 hrs while the third relief flight will also be reaching at Faisal Air force Base Karachi airport today on 29th September 2013. The first relief consignment included tents and blankets weighing 91.75 tons while medicines, emergency medical equipment, water purification equipment, blankets, tents and emergency lights weighing 89.09 tons were sent on the second relief consignment. The relief cargo was handed over by Commercial Office Consulate General of Peoples Republic of China Karachi, Mr. Li Xinxin to the representatives of Government of Pakistan from ERC, DG ERC Islamabad, Capt retd Aftab Muhammad and NDMA, Logistics Manager NDMA, Lt. Col retd Muhammad Ali Haider Kazi at Karachi Airport. Mr. Li Xin xin expressed grief over the loss of death due to earthquake and assured full support to the government of Pakistan in relief activities.
