CJ asked to take notice of doctor’s murder

Karachi: Pakistan Medical Association PMA Centre and PMA Karachi on Thursday strongly condemned the brutal murder of Dr Abdul Ghani in Lyari Town.

A high level meeting of PMA Centre and PMA Karachi leaders was held at PMA House Karachi, which was also attended by Dr S Tipu Sultan, Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad, Dr M Idrees Adhi, Dr Qazi M Wasiq, Dr Shershah Syed, Dr Aziz Khan Tank, Dr Ahmed Bhimani, Dr Sirajuddulla, Dr Shaukat Malik, Dr Khalil Mukaddam and others.

PMA said doctors were being killed, kidnapped and harassed by Bhatta Mafia, especially in the province of Sindh and Balochistan. PMA said this situation was persisting since a long time, which had created a sense of fear and unrest in the society in general and the doctors fraternity in particular.

PMA said its seemed that the government was not interested to provide security to the doctors and did not want to improve the law and order situation in the province.

It demanded of the government to provide security to all doctors, otherwise, a countrywide protest would be initiated. PMA further demanded of the Federal Interior Minister, Chief Minister Sindh, Chief Secretary, IG Police, DG Rangers and all other state institutions to maintain the law and order and secure doctors. PMA requested the Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of the doctor’s killing.
