CM chaired briefing on streamlining the drinking water system on scientific lines

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak chaired a comprehensive briefing on streamlining the drinking water system on scientific lines, shifting the tube wells on solar energy and providing clean drinking water to the people all over the province. The briefing was given by a Dubai based firm Pak Oasis at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.

On this occasion Pak Oasis offered huge investment in drinking water sector in the province. The Chief Minister while welcoming the offer directed the authorities of public health engineering, irrigation and local government to give final shape to such matters after consultation with the concerned firm so that the tendering process could be initiated soon after Eidul Azha.

The Chief Minister assured the firm’s officials that all necessary security and other requirements of its activities would be guaranteed. The briefing was attended by the provincial minister PHE Shah Farman Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez, Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister Rafaqat Ullah Babar, Secretaries and Chief Engineers of P&D, LG&RD, Irrigation, Finance and other concerned departments.

The meeting was told that shifting the tube wells and water filtration plants to solar energy would save lot of time energy and resources while the people could be provided to adequate and clean drinking water at their door step.

It was further told that services of consultants have been hired for new schemes of water supply and sanitation. For this purpose four consultants have been hired for this purpose. The Chief Minister underlined the need of acquiring the services of at least one consultant at every region level in the province in this regard.
