CM winds debate on Balochistan Budget

QUETTA: Problems of people would be resolved according to the aspiration and desire of people. Government is ready to give account of a single penny. Funds utilized through agencies would also give account of even a single penny.

This was stated by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while winding up debate on Balochistan Budget 201314 in the House here Wednesday.

He said Opposition had levelled allegation that he had drawn Rupees 30 million from secret fund. It is purely wrong and baseless. Have they any proof they should bring it before the House he added.

He said suggestions put forth by Opposition and treasury benches have been noted. He considers Opposition’s criticism good for his improvement. He aid NFC award or 18th amendment was not done by a single party but it is collective effort of all the political parties. He aid martyrs sacrificed their lives for national parity and democratic principles and now mind set up has now changed. Bureaucracy in Islamabad has started care for smaller provinces. He directed Chief Secretary to include all the suggestions and fund of opposition in the budget and correctly. No compromise will be made on corruption and whoever was found involved in it action would be taken against him. No one would be above the law.

He said education and health sectors have been destroyed in the province. We would face challenges. He aid on political basis no DPO or DC would be posted but whatever would be from departments would be posted. He asked Bureaucracy to bring change in it.

He said Rupees 80 billion have been earmarked for ongoing schemes. Government would give account of each and every paisa but those who would spend funds in their areas would also be accountable.

He said one who had sold medicines in Panjgur hospital health department should take action against him and send him to jail.

He asked MPAs to visit their areas and pay special attention on schools and hospitals and take measures on war footing. He said doctors would be given special package in remote areas of the province. They should go to their areas and serve people there. He said no political victimization of anyone but we have passed through this.

He said trade centres would be setup at the borders so that people should get benefit from it. Federal government would also be approached in this connection.

He said it is we who have corrupted police and levies in Balochistan because we make sifarish for them.

Dr Malik said investment board would be constituted for uplift of Balochistan and investment so that people from outside make investment in the province.

He said we would appeal to Prime Minister to give package for beautification of Quetta city.

He said bureaucracy has to mend its attitude. We are representatives of people as they have elected us. We are answerable to them. Bureaucracy would not be allowed to create in the way of resolution of problems of people.

Earlier members from Opposition and Treasury benches spoke on various aspects of the budget. They included Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel, Asim Kurd Galloo, Izhar Hussain Khosa and Amanullah Notezai. They said there are good and bad in the budget.

They said billions have been set aside for education, health and law and order but there is neither education nor health.

Law and order situation is also very bad. They said government is serious in resolving problems. They said there is need to pay attention education and health or situation would further worsen. They said how law and order in the province can improve when Inspector General Police cannot defend himself.

Later the House was adjourned till Thursday.
