Karachi: Collaboration between Fujairah Port and Karachi Port Trust is of a great significance in light of the huge shift of trade and commerce from West to East.
This was stated by Senator Babar Khan Ghauri, Federal Minister for Ports & Shipping of Pakistan after his meeting with His Highness Sheikh Saleh bin Mohamed Al-Sharqi at Fujairah, said a release here Wednesday.
During the meeting it was decided that a high powered delegation from Fujairah Port would soon visit Pakistan to crystallize some important implementable projects related to machinery and equipment; exchange of experts, provision of manpower and possibility of development of real estate in the surroundings of the Karachi Port Trust. Facilitation of port operation for the main features also came under the limelight.
Sheikh Saleh bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, who is also Chairman of Fujairah Port besides being responsible for aviation, economic and industry stated that Fujairah Free Zone could become the galvanizing factor for further improving business relations in various sectors between Pakistan and the UAE, which are tied in deep rooted and eternal bonds of friendship.
Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan gave an account of the opportunities available for the Karachi Port Trust; and the Fujairah Port for the whole region in the back drop of immense cargo movement to the new silk route that would ultimately connect central Asian countries thus bringing huge trade volume between West, Middle East, Pakistan, other regional countries and Central Asia.
Babar Khan Ghauri extended an invitation to Saleh bin Mohamed Al Sharqi to visit Pakistan to see for himself the facilities under the umbrella of the Ports & Shipping Ministry in order to implement the projects so decided and to explore new avenues for both the entities.
