Karachi: Combating discrimination and harassment is a prerequisite for building respectful workplace and promotion of merit culture. The 6th principle of UNGC calling upon business to eliminate discrimination in respect of employment and occupation is a meaningful tool which can help promote a merit culture which is the most important need business in Pakistan must realize.
This was emphasized by the panellists in a panel discussion organized by UN Global Compact Network Pakistan in collaboration with Innovative Keys on the eve of a one day conference on the Framework of Respectful Workplace “Merit Culture” at local hotel.
The panellists included Kalim Siddiqi, former Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Pakistan State Oil, Ahsanullah Khan and
Fasihul Karim Siddiqi, President and Secretary, Global Compact Network Pakistan, Nusrat Ali, a renowned national trainer, Ms Shirin Naqvi, President Institute of Leadership and Majyd Aziz a renowned industrialist.
The conference and panel discussion was attended by a cross section of business, academia, professionals, NGOs and civil society.
