Committee formed to look after Lyari IDPs

HYDERABAD: Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed has constituted a three-member committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Badin to look after the internal displaced persons IDPs of Lyari incidents in Badin.

He directed the committee to ensure proper shelter either in building or tents, provision of food, potable drinking water and health facilities to IDPs till their stay. He directed the committee to send him reports of their services being provided to IDPs on daily basis.

Talking to official media at his office here on Tuesday, Divisional Commissioner said that he himself visited the camp of IDPs at Dargah of Shah Gurio near Talhar last day to get first hand information about their problems and the services being provided to them from the district administration.

He said that since these IDPs were willingly residing at the dargah because of their spiritual affiliation, we provided them tents and food, health and other facilities of drinking water and fumigation of the areas on regular basis. He said that during the interaction, IDPs expressed satisfaction over the services being provided to them by the district administration.
