Committee formed to probe Gurumandir blast attack case

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Thursday constituted a six-member investigative team, headed by DIG East, to conduct a probe into bomb attack on Chief security officer of Bilawal House, Bilal Sheikh, that occurred at Gurumandir area in the city on Wednesday.

According to a handout issued by Sindh police, the team would comprise SSP East, SSP Investigation-I East Karachi, SSP Special Investigation CIA, SP Jamshed Division East Karachi, SDPO Jamshed Quarters East and SIO Jamshed Quarters East.

The team will inform DIG East and Additional IG Karachi on daily basis regarding progress in the investigation.

According to Karachi police spokesman, Additional IG Karachi through IG Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch has asked Secretary Sindh government to form a joint interrogation team to probe the attack while he also asked him to announce Rs1 million prize for citizens providing information about culprits involved in the incident.
