Cop dies in road mishap

Karachi: A police constable was killed in a road mishap in the city on Tuesday. A 38-year-old police constable, Jamal Khan, son of Saleem Khan, was coming on duty in morning on bike when a speeding vehicle hit him to death on the spot near Bilawal House, Clifton, within the remit of Boat Basin police station. The vehicle driver managed to escape from the scene after the accident.

The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Boat Basin police said the constable Jamal was deployed in Clifton police station. Police have registered an FIR number 633/2013 under section 320, 427 and 337G against vehicle driver.
