Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Shaharyar Khan on Monday said bilateral cricket ties between archrivals Pakistan and India should not be amalgamated with the political rift between the two neighbours.
“The bilateral series would certainly happen if the Indian government approves it. I feel sports should be allowed to play its role to abridge gap among nations rather than allowing politics to shadow it as well,” Shaharyar told reporters in Lahore.
Shaharyar also said that several countries including Ireland and Hong Kong have shown interest in playing cricket in Pakistan.
Recently, Zimbabwe became the first Test playing team to tour Pakistan after the attack on Sri Lankan team six years ago back in 2009.
