Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister and JI parliamentary leader Sirajul Haq while eulogising role of British donor agency DFID in providing support to the people of the province in education, health and communication sectors, reiterated that the new provincial govt would value and encourage such a financial help having no hard conditions.
He was talking to DFID delegation led by its country head George Turkington that called on him at Committee Room of Finance Department in Civil Sectt Peshawar on Wednesday and felicitated him on assuming the portfolio of Minister Finance and expressed the confidence that the new govt would march in line with better financial discipline, judicious use of funds and accelerating the pace of progress.
Sirajul Haq termed education, health and energy sectors as top most priorities of his govt.
He said we would endeavour to set new examples in financial discipline and transparent use of public money as the western countries cared about accountability for best utilization of their tax payers funds.
He reiterated that KPK would emerge a model province in terms of resource management and prosperity at national and international level owing to the hectic efforts of the new 4party coalition govt.
He said introducing new legislation on Conflict of Interest, Access to Information and independent Accountability Commission would pave way for elimination of corruption, fiscal transparency as well as timely and quality completion of welfare oriented projects in the province.
He also agreed with the viewpoint that educating children in local mother tongue could prove more effective and assured that provincial govt would more better equip the youth with higher education by this way.
He lamented that the new KPK govt was faced with the serious challenges of illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, energy crisis, static business and industrialization for which the chief minister and all cabinet members were quite ready to burn midnights oil, he added.
He said his govt would compete other provinces in race on development and would bring his people in the national mainstream.
However he said this completion would be in positive prospects and not in negative terms at all.
He hoped that donor agencies like DFID would help us in achieving the set goals that he said would also contribute in furthering the global goodwill and fraternity.
