Diplomatic PM urges investment in energy sector

Islamabad: Mr. Esam Yousif Janahi, Chairman and Founder of Gulf Finance House, called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Prime Minister House on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister, while talking to Mr. Jahani, said that Pakistan and Bahrain had close and brotherly relations.

Recalling his meeting with Amir of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in Kuwait recently, the Prime Minister praised him for his warmth and graciousness.

Praising the Gulf Finance House Bahrain for doing well financially, he drew the attention of the Chairman to huge investment potential in Pakistan.

He expressed the need to invest in energy sector which has huge potential because of the growing demand for energy in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that we had a good wind corridor, hydel potential and coal reserves. He further said the Independent Power Producers IPPs installed way back in 1994 were doing roaring business.

Mr. Jahani said that his company was examining the possibility of investing in energy sector in Pakistan.

The Chairman Gulf Finance House, while talking to the Prime Minister, said that the investment policies of Pakistan were conducive and attractive for foreign investors because of rewarding returns on investments.

The Chairman apprised the Prime Minister that his Finance House specializes in equity financing.
