District: Dacoit killed in firing incident

Sialkot: An unknown dacoit was killed and his companion was injured by the firing of their fleeing companions after an encounter with police near village Malkhaanwala, Sambrial tehsil.

Reportedly, as many as four dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth of rupees thousands at gunpoint from several local villagers including Muhammad Nazir, Muhammad Nawaz and Kastoori Lal, besides, looting Wahdat Colony Gujranwala based Muhammad Arshad and his wife.

On this, the looted people raised their alarm and dacoits fled away. Meanwhile, on a tip off, the patrolling Sambrial police started chasing the fleeing accused. Later, the accused sheltered in some bushes and started firing on police.

As the police retaliated there was a silence. An unknown accused dacoit was killed while his unknown companion was found injured seriously there. The two other dacoits managed to escape by dodging the police.

Senior police officials claimed that the accused was killed and another was injured by the bullets fired by their fleeing accused accomplices. The deceased and injured accused was not yet identified. Police shifted the dead body to a local hospital for autopsy.
