District: Slain persons laid to rest at their native village

Sialkot: As many as six slain persons including three women of a family and minor girl the victims of old enmity on Sunday were laid to rest in their native graveyard at village Chhani Gondal-Kulluwal, Sambrial tehsil here today, amid tight security.

A large number of the people from all walks of life attended the funerals held there. Several agonic and gloom scenes were witnessed, when all the funerals were lifted together from the mourning village. The atmosphere remained mourning in the village to mourn the brutal assassination of six persons.

Earlier, the heirs and villagers staged a big protest demonstration and also staged sit while placing the dead bodies in congested China Chowk and kept the traffic blocked for two hours on main Sialkot-Sambrial Road here today by burning the tyres there.

The protesting people chanted antipolice slogans demanding immediate
arrest of the accused killers. Sialkot District Police Officer DPO Muhammad Gohar Nafees reached the spot and negotiated with the protesting people. DPO assured them about the early arrest of the killers. On this assurance, they dispersed peacefully.
