Doctor among four gunned down in Karachi

Karachi: Four people, including a senior doctor, were shot dead in Lyari in the city on Thursday.

Police said Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Lyari General Hospital, Abdul Ghani 40, and two other people were killed as a result of shootout between the two groups in Bihar Colony, Lyari Town, within the remit of Chakiwara police station.

Two dead were identified as Shahbaz 22, son of Imtiaz, and Waseem 23, son of Khalid. Two more people were also injured in the incident, who identified as Manzoor 35, son of Karam and Asif30, son of Fayyaz.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a man, aged around 25, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Abdullah Morr (roundabout), Surjani Town, within the jurisdiction of Surjani police station. The identity of victim could not be ascertained yet.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.
