Educators & teachers’ demo for non-payment of their salaries

SIALKOT: In Pasrur, a score of the science educators teachers, staged a peaceful demonstration as a protest against the non-payment of their salaries for the last six months by the Sialkot education department. They marched on various intercity roads in Pasrur city during light rainy and dark cloudy weather here, carrying banners and placards, demanding immediate release of their salaries.

Later, talking to the newsmen at Pasrur, the said perturbed teachers said that they had been lying deprived of their salaries for the last six consecutive months due to which they had become hand to mouth and were unable to meet their house hold activities in such unbearable skyrocketing price hike.

They said that they repeatedly contacted with the concerned officials in Sialkot EDO Education office for their salaries but the officials told them that there were no funds for their salaries.

The affected teachers have urged the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Abdul Jabbar Shaheen and Sialkot DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal to make some effective measures to ensure the early payment of their six-month long salaries.
