Karachi: Eight more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, increasing the patients’ toll to 2170 this year, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Mullick said that a total of 2459 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 2170 were detected in Karachi and 289 in rest of Sindh province. He said 12 dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.
He said 42 dengue patients still admitted in different hospitals of Sindh, while 10 were discharged from hospitals in the city.
He said eight new cases were reported in Karachi on 10th October, while two cases were detected in Hyderabad.
He informed that 265 cases were detected in Hyderabad, six in Thatta, three each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Larkana, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze and Umerkot since January 2013.
