Eight more dengue fever cases reported

KARACHI: Eight more dengue viral fever cases were reported in the city on Monday, said Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh said that 360 dengue fever cases were reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of them 350 were reported in Karachi, while 10 in rest of Sindh.

He said two dengue patients died owing to the disease in Karachi since January 2013. He said that nine dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the city and eight new cases have been reported in Karachi on July 1, out of which five were admitted to hospitals, while three patients were treated in OPD.

However, seven patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment.
