The condemnation was made by Vice President of Teachers Union FUUAST Gulshan Campus Dr Syed Tahir Ali while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club. The press conference was jointly organized by Teachers Union and Revolutionary Democratic Group Abdul Haq Campus.

Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Tahiri, Dr Waseemuddin, Zainul Abideen, Dr Sajid Jehangir, Asghar Dashti, Faisal Javeed, Dr Mamnoon, Dr Kamal Haider and Dr Murshid Raza were also present on this occasion. He said election of the two members of nominated committee were scheduled to be held on 3rd April 2013 after completion of three-year tenure but it could not be held yet despite repeated written reminders.

He said delaying tactics of university administration is an act to deprive teachers of basic right of voting. He said university is facing serious crises like teachers promotion issue, pending result of selection board and nomination of senate members on vacant seats due to slackness of the administration.

He urged the university administration to immediately announce the date of election before Ramazan. He claimed the administration has bowed down before Teachers Union and announced the date of election on 18th July during semester break which is not acceptable.

He demanded of President of Pakistan, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of situation and save institution from crises. He also asked the federal government to increase salaries of teachers as per inflation ratio and withdraw extra taxes on teachers in the new budget.
