Executive Director HEC meets Governor

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has emphasized financial discipline for Balochistan Universities He was speaking to Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission HEC who called on him at Balochistan House, Islamabad.

Issues pertaining to the universities in Balochistan were discussed during the meeting.

The Governor stressed the need for universities to follow financial discipline for smooth running of the higher learning institutions. He also discussed various scholarship and R&D opportunities available for the university faculty.

Appreciating Prime Minister’s initiative for youth, he said that significance of youth in any society could not be undermined. Dr. Mukhtar informed the Governor that HEC has established a task force to look into academic affairs of the universities in Balochistan, and a committee of experts to provide guidance for improved running of financial affairs.

Both the task force and the committee will visit universities of the province later this month. The Executive Director shared with the Governor different initiatives of HEC for development of faculty, promotion of research and enhancing physical and technological infrastructure of higher education institutions.
