Eye hospital decries load shedding

Karachi: The patients of Spencer Eye Hospital Lyari are suffering badly as unannounced load shedding compels doctors to postpone eye operations.

Medical Superintendent (MS) of Spencer Eye Hospital Dr Muhammad Anwar said many eye operations have been postponed in hospital so far due to long hours of load shedding by Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) in city. He said the recent schedule of load shedding has compelled doctors to postpone eye operation for several weeks.

He urged the KESC high-ups to change the schedule of load shedding in his area as the timely operation of eye patients who arrive from different parts of the country could be conducted

It is pertinent to mention here that hospital being run under Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in city where thousands of poor patients get free of cost eye treatment every year.
