SHAHPUR CHAKAR: Fine Art Pakistan Gallery is organizing exhibition of paintings titled “Nature and Mortar” by Abdul Hayee and Sarfraz Musawwir on Friday, 14th June 2013, at 5:00 pm at its premises, 3C, 35th Street, Tauheed Commercial Area Phase V, DHA, Karachi.
Abdul Hayee born near Agra in 1948 and completed his graduation in 1971 from the Karachi school of Arts and participated in numerous group shows in Pakistan and abroad.
Abdul Hayee was the initiator of “on spot “painting in Karachi, many years ago. Hayee is one of the few water colourists who paints in the late afternoon, enjoying the deepening shadows. He was a source of encouragement to groups of younger artists and art students who assembled on holidays to paint from nature. Malir, west wharf, Karachi and its environs were painted with a loving eye to detail.
Musawwir was born in the small town Umarkot in the province of Sindh in 1960. Although qualified with a postgraduate degree in Physics, he decided to pursue a career in art, which subsequently brought him great success. He is self-taught and remains one of the most critically acclaimed water colour artists in Pakistan. He has participated in many national and international group exhibitions and has held several solo shows in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
The show will continue till 22nd June, 2013.
