Flood emergency cell establishes at NHA

Islamabad: Chairman National Highway Authority NHA Hamid Ali Khan has said that flood emergency cell has been set up at NHA to cope with any emergency situation during monsoon.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday he said that cell will start functioning from 10th of July. He said emergency centers will remain in touch with the district and provincial offices of the NHA.

He said a strategy has also been evolved to ensure smooth flow of traffic on national highways during possible floods in the monsoon. He said heavy machinery will be available after every 30 kilometres on national highways during monsoon. He said that every possible help will be provided to the affected people.
