FO Pak Embassy in Baghdad in contact with Iraqi authorities on Pakistani Zaireens issue

Islamabad: The Spokesman of the Foreign Office Friday said that Embassy of Pakistan in Baghdad is in contact with relevant Iraqi authorities and is making all efforts to facilitate Pakistani Zaireens stranded at Baghdad International Airport.

He stated this while responding to a query regarding Pakistani Zaireens stranded in Iraq. Entry into Iraq was denied due to provincial governorate elections being held on 20th April 2013.

The Pakistani Embassy in Baghdad is in contact with the Iraqi authorities to allow entry into Iraq.

The Embassy of Pakistan has further advised that Pakistani Zaireens planning to visit Iraq may defer their visit, even if they hold valid visas, till the completion of election process i.e. 21 April 2013.
