FO Spokesman rules out negative effect of raising voice against Drone Attacks

Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry has ruled out any negative effects of raising voice against US drone attacks in the UN General Assembly.

In an interview on Monday, the spokesperson said Pakistan is working for the resolution of this issue on two levels.

He said the decision to raise voice against drone strikes in the United Nations was taken unanimously in All Parties Conference.

Explaining Pakistan’s stance on drones‚ Aizaz Chaudhry said countries ensure practical steps when they take principled stance on any issue.

He said Pakistan has also raised the issue on various international platforms including UN Security Council and Human Rights Council in Geneva.

He said this will develop public opinion on international level‚ which will help resolving the issue. He said several countries back Pakistan’s stance in this regard.

Aizaz said Pakistan is also discussing the issue with United States through bilateral talks.
