Karachi: The United Arab Emirates and Pakistan have always had very cordial ties. It is due to these brotherly and friendly relations that the UAE rulers have always helped Pakistan.
This was said by Sindh Minister for Agriculture Ali Nawaz Maher, who was chief guest at a ceremony held to distribute foodstuff packages to the poor and needy families of Sindh and Balochistan affected by earthquake and flood.
Maher addressing a press conference at Falcon House, after the foodstuff packages distribution ceremony said the Pakistani people were touched by the UAE generosity and said the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation had given the humanitarian aid.
The Director of Charity Department of The Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation Mohammed Abdul Khaleq Al Khoori, acting Consul General of UAE Bakheet Ateeq Al Romaithi, Consul Mr Obaid Khalifa Al Kaabi, Mohammed Sher Khan, were also present on the occasion.
Mohammed Abdul Khaleq Al Khoori said that this aid will be distributed to 5,000 families in both provinces during the holy month of Ramazan. He added that the Foundation will also arrange an Iftar Dastarkhawan in Karachi for 500 people on daily basis.
Al Khoori said for the Ramzan package the Foundation will spend Rs12million whereas the Foundation will build Masajid and Madrassahs for the flood affected areas. He said the Foundation will also sponsor 20 families to perform Hajj and two persons from each family will get this benefit.
