Islamabad: Islamabad has said it remains committed to a sustained and meaningful engagement with India for the resolution of oustanding issues.

These views were expressed by Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbass Jilani in a written message to his Indian counterpart Sujatha Singh congratulating her on becoming India’s foreign secretary.

Foreign Secretary Jilani appreciated Foreign Secretary Singh’s desire to pick up the threads of the dialogue process from where it was left off. He said that the exchange of goodwill messages between the leadership of the two countries needed to be carried forward.

He said he looks forward to working closely with the Indian Foreign Secretary in addressing all issues of mutual concern.
