Foundation of Zakriya Drug Detoxification & Rehabilitator Center laid at JPMC

KARACHI: The ground breaking ceremony of Zakriya Drug Detoxification & Rehabilitator Center was held in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, which was performed by Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro at Najamuddin Auditorium.

The Zakriya Drug Detoxification & Rehabilitator Center will be built under public private partnership at JPMC where rehabilitation of drug users will be carried out in scientific way. The center will be built with the coordination of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPPCI), and Bahauddin Zakariya Academy Adabiyat.

Chairman Bahauddin Zakariya Academy Adabiyat, Makhdoom Adeel Pirzada, talking to PPI said Zakriya Drug Detoxification & Rehabilitator Center will be built under public-private partnership where rehabilitation will be done through five different methods.

He said rehabilitator center will comprise seven-storey and project will complete within nine months, while 1st-storey building will be completed within three months. He said center will be built on the patron of City Hospital New York. He informed Center can house up to 50 patients once it will made fully operational. He said project is brainchild of Prof Dr Iqbal Afridi and his father Peer Moinuddin Hashmi.

Head of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science, JPMC, Prof Dr Iqbal Afridi, Prof Haroon Ahmed, Dr Seemin Jamali, Prof Anis Bhatti, Prof Dr Mohammad Qaiser and others also attend the groundbreaking ceremony.
