Islamabad: Interior Minister Rehman Malik told the National Assembly Tuesday that the Karachi tragedy is a replication of Quetta terrorist incidents. He said four activists of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi have been arrested involved in the Karachi incident.
He said he visited Karachi on Monday and held meeting with law enforcement agencies and firmed up some measures to stop the recurrence of such incidents.
He once again appealed the Punjab government to take action against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to wipe out terrorism.
The Interior Minister said it is the collective responsibility of all of us to work together against the menace of terrorism. He said the government is very sincere to eliminate terrorism from the country. He said there is a need for strong anti-terrorism legislation.
The Minister said he will give a detailed statement in the House on law and order in the country and particularly situation in Karachi Wednesday.
