Four more dengue fever cases surface in Karachi

Karachi: Four more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Friday, increasing the patients’ toll to 2174 this year, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Mullick said that a total of 2467 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 2174 were detected in Karachi and 293 in rest of Sindh province. He said 12 dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.

He said four new cases were reported in Karachi on 11th October, while four cases were detected in Hyderabad, respectively.

He informed that 269 cases were detected in Hyderabad, six in Thatta, three each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Larkana, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze and Umerkot since January 2013.
