Naudero: An animal husbandry project established here a decade back is lying idle as its machinery and motors have been rusted due to sheer negligence.

Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and Sindh’s Agriculture Department are jointly responsible for the failure of this project, which the only facility of its kind in Sindh province to produce fodder of all sorts for cattle heads.

Sources told PPI that due to lack of funding the facility has been almost closed. The plant has the capacity to produce 3 tons fodder/ feed in an hour.

In past the cattle breeders in Hyderabad, Karachi and other parts of the province used to procure feed/fodder prepared by this plant.

One employee of the plant told PPI, on condition of anonymity, that their head office in Islamabad is not releasing funds due to which the facility has been almost closed.

Cattle owners of this town and other adjoining villages including Wahid Bux Phulpoto, Sagheer Abro, Asghar Narejo, Abdul Lateef and others complained that their buffaloes used to give more milk when they used to give them feed produced by this plant. They urged the provincial and federal governments alike to ensure full functioning of the facility to facilitate local cattle farmers.
