KARACHI: A delegation of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology FUUAST Teachers Association Abdul Haq Campus, led by general secretary Prof Najamul Aarfeen met with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal and drew his attention towards clash between two students wings of political parties on previous day, in which students, teachers and staff were injured.
They informed that law enforcement personnel manhandled some teachers and staff, while some students also damaged vehicles parked in university premises.
Dr Zafar Iqbal assured the delegation that attention of senior officials would be drawn towards manhandling of Prof Farooq Ahmed by the law enforcement personnel and FIR would be launched against those involved in it.
He said that compensation would be given to owners of the damaged vehicles, and students who were involved in clash would also be finned. He further assured the delegation for comprehensive security plan would be implemented in campus soon.
The delegation informed that due deteriorated law and order situation in campus it is difficult for teacher to continue curriculum activities.
