Islamabad According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 70% of Pakistanis think an educated person has a better chance of progressing in life compared to an uneducated person. A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Suppose Aslam and Wasim are two friends. Aslam is illiterate and Wasim is educated. In your view, what are the chances that Wasim can progress more in life compared to Aslam?” Responding to this, 70% think there is a very good chance, 26% think there is somewhat good chance and 3% think there is no chance at all. However, 1% did not give a response.
The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2732 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 27 to 03 February 03, 2013.
