Ghinwa Bhutto stages sit-in against occupation of her land

Naudero: Pakistan Peoples’ Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto participated in a sit-in that blocked main Naundero-Sukkur road in front of Naundero police station here on Saturday morning along with large number of party supporters and peasants.

They established their protest camp on the road. Ghinwa Bhutto was protesting against ‘forcible occupation’ of her agricultural land located at village Panjudero near here in the limits of Naundero PS allegedly by a police official.

Talking to media Ghinwa Bhutto claimed that the land is her property which was forcibly occupied by one Sadullah Narejo and his associates but the police are doing nothing. She further said that she will not return back until the possession of the land is handed over to her.

She said that Sindh High Court Circuit Court Larkana has issued stay order in her favour as the land is Bhutto leaders’ ancestral property. She said she too has armed men and can get the possession of the land forcefully but she believes in democracy and will get her right in a democratic way.

She said that she contacted DIGP Larkana Khadim Rind who replied that his daughter was indisposed and SSP Larkana Khalid Mustafa Korai is not attending her calls so she was forced to stage sit-in in front of the police station here to pressurize the authorities to get her 6-acre land back.

On the other hand Sadullah Narejo claimed that the land was purchased by him in 2010 from his cousin Ghulam Hyder Narejo.
SHO Naundero Khalid Sarki told the media that he has deployed policemen at the land and barred Sadullah from harvesting paddy crop till the final decision is made by the higher authorities.

Later, DSP Larkana Headquarters Yar Muhammad Rind visited the protest camp and assured Ghinwa Bhutto that action would be taken against the occupiers of the land. On his assurances the protestors dispersed peacefully.
