Govt committed to give Karachi peace: Nawaz Sharif

Karachi: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here Friday said that the government was committed to give Karachi peace. Karachi is the lifeline of Pakistan and lawlessness here could not be tolerated.

Talking to traders, investors and leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at Governor House, here, he said operations against lawbreakers in Karachi would remain continue and the government could not be blackmailed in this regard. He said so far this operation has given good results. He said even-handed action against the criminals would continue and peace and tranquillity would be provided to traders and investors. He said the operation in Karachi is above politics and it is aimed at only to nab criminals.

On the issue of dialogue process to Taliban, he said this process was planned but later it faced hurdles. He said the government wants to settle issues with Taliban through dialogue. He said giving citizens protection is the basic responsibility of the government and it would make Pakistan a peaceful country.
