Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed Tuesday that Islamabad Capital Territory has best maternal and child health care facilities.
This was informed while replying to a call attention notice moved by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho and others regarding lack of maternal care and child heath care in Islamabad Capital Territory’s and other government hospitals by Minister for Capital Administration and Development Nazar Muhammad Gondal.
He informed the House that ICT has best maternal and child heath care facilities in the country with a number of units at different health care centres.
He said two-hundred beds facility is available at PIMS for this purpose while 174 beds at the Polyclinic Hospital are also meant for maternal and child heath. He said latest facilities are also being provided at 3 Rural Health Centres, 14 Basic Health Units and National Institute of Health.
