IG Sindh orders more security on highways

KARACHI: Inspector General Police IGP Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Thursday directed district police officials to curb criminal activities on National Highway and other roads to ensure safe passage for the people.

Taking notice of media reports on criminal activities on highways, the IG Sindh directed DIGs to check weapons, ammunition and deployment of police personnel on the check posts, established on the highways and sought daily report from the concerned SSP.

He said that district police stations, liking highways, should ensure effective surveillance and intelligence system in order to uproot the criminal gangs and their hideouts.
