IG Sindh orders to setup computerized investigation labs

KARACHI: Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch has ordered to set up computerized investigation laboratories in each zone of police.

Chairing a high level meeting over law and order situation on Thursday, Baloch directed to set up the laboratories, similar to that working in East Zone, Karachi and Hyderabad Range.

He directed officials to commence a training program for investigation officers. “Training course of police force should be amended while priority should be given to academic and technical faculties.”

Lectures from investigative experts should be organized for groups of investigative officers from each police range, he said.

Meanwhile, DIG West told the meeting that an investigative team, comprising of computer experts, was setup in the zone to safeguard the evidences soon after the incident. The IG Sindh told the meeting to study the results of the investigative team and apply the mechanism in case of its merits.
