IGP orders coordinated efforts against terrorism

Karachi: Inspector General Police Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch has asked all the DIGs to take coordinated efforts against terrorism.

In a statement here Friday, he said the strategy of police intelligence plan should be reviewed to nab the gangs and their patrons involved in terrorist attacks and other heinous crimes. He stressed the need to formulate effective strategies on the basis of intelligence sharing and swift follow up to ensure successful raids.

He said advance intelligence collection in the crime infested areas, sensitive areas, thickly populated localities, and suburbs should be enhanced taking in account the particular communities living in these areas. He said all police stations, district SSPs, and SDPs should play their due role in this regard.

He said the targeted operations should be further spurred without any favour or fear to get the wanted criminals and lawbreakers arrested. He said the ongoing processes of snap checking, picketing, surveillance and search should be made result-oriented. He said the lists of sensitive places should be upgraded and their security further enhanced.
