IGP orders extraordinary security around jails

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Tuesday directed relevant officials to ensure extraordinary security around all jails across Sindh province. He said that SSPs of all districts should give priority to holding consultations with DIG and Jail Superintendents of Sindh jail department so as to make security steps effective.

IGP said that strict vigilance should be kept on criminals under intelligence and collection & sharing system with intelligence agencies. Any kind of information should be followed and swift police action taken so as to avoid any untoward incident, he said.

He said that all police stations should be bounded to act on fourth schedule list as per law and transparent manner. Steps should also be taken to end disheartening wall chalking and distribution of matter spreading provocation and hatred among people, IGP concluded.
