KARACHI: Inspector General of Police IGP Sind, Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari, on Tuesday directed the officers to keep in view terrorist activities and unrest so as to bring the criminal elements in grip of law, restore peace in the city and protect life and property of citizens.
He made these directives while reviewing the law and order situation and progress report of Abbas Town bomb blast in a meeting held at his office. The IGP instructed officials to take steps for establishment of watch towers in sensitive areas and police pickets at selective high-rise buildings in different parts of the city.
IGP said senior police officers would monitor all security arrangements and zonal DIGs, district SSPs, SHOs and intelligence agencies would remain in contact with Pakistan Rangers Sind in order to ensure joint action in the lights all intelligence information.
Additional IG Karachi/CID Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh, DIG Headquarters Sind Captain r Tahir Naveed and other officials were also present in the meeting.
