Japanese Emperor’s 79 birthday celebration in Karachi

Karachi: The consul general of Japan at Karachi, Akira Ouchi and Mrs. Junko Ouchi hosted a grand reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Akihito, who will be 79 years old on 23rd December, 2012.

Relief and Rehabilitation Minister of Sindh Muzaffar Ali Shujra was the chief guest on behalf of the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at the event that was also attended by Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuro, provincial ministers, diplomats, businessmen, parliamentarians, government officials and other prominent figures.

Speaking on the occasion, Akira Ouchi reiterated his appreciation to warm sympathy and generous support from the Pakistani people after the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11 March, 2011 and referred to the recent decision of the Japanese Government to extend assistance to flood disaster in Pakistan in 2012.

He also stated that as this year commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Japan and Pakistan, he will make utmost efforts to further promote the friendly relationship between the two countries.

Muzaffar Ali Shujra congratulated His Majesty the Emperor Akihito on His birthday and expressed his sincere wish for His good health and prosperity.
