JI condemns attack on mausoleum of Khalid Bin Walid

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan , has strongly condemned the demolition of the mausoleum of Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid by the shelling of the Syrian army, and said such criminal acts of the Syrian armed forces were a matter of deep concern for the entire Muslim world.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that bloodshed was continuing in Syria for the last three years. He said Asad family that had been ruling the country for the last six decades, had destroyed the whole of Syria. More than one lakh Syrians had been killed while millions had been rendered homeless. He said the world powers under US patronage, were prolonging the crisis.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that Syria was the land of the Prophet’s companions but the destruction being caused there for the last three years and the recent desecration of the companions tombs was an attempt to plunge the country into a sectarian war which was most shameful.

The JI Ameer expressed complete solidarity with the Syrian people and appealed them to maintain complete unity in their ranks in order to get rid of Basharal Asad rule.

He appealed to the people from all schools of thought and sects to foil the evil designs of the enemies of Islam by promoting mutual brotherhood and unity.
