JI demands solving pressing problems of Karachiites

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami JI has asked the government to solve the pressing problems of Karachiites including law and order, gang war, electricity load shedding, dearth of public transport, price hike, closure of CNG stations and ban of pillion riding.

As per details, a delegation of JI Karachi chapter led by its ameer Muhammad Hussain Mehanti called on Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui at his office on Sunday.

In the meeting, JI delegation demanded of the Commissioner to immediate resolution of the issues of the people and business community.

The delegation comprising of JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui, Naib Ameers Raja Arif Sultan, Nasrullah Shajih and others.

The delegation discussed public issues including target killings, extortion incidents, pillion riding ban and overcharging on edible items during Holy month of Ramzan.

On the occasion, Mehanti said that the extortion incidents have increased by every passing day, as the government and LEAs do not pay any heed towards the rising incidents of extortion, adding that only one political party was involved into such criminal activities, but nowadays many political parties and other criminal elements have involved in collecting extortion.

JI Karachi Chief further said that the battle of power between the extortion mafias is being continued in Kharadar and Old City areas, adding that why the government does not take any step in this regard, he questioned.

Mehanti informed the Commissioner that the profiteering and hoarding of basic items are also on the rise during Holy month of Ramzan and the people have been deprived of purchasing such daily use items.

He further highlighted the ban impose on pillion riding by which the common men were facing tremendous difficulties to reach at their destination during Ramzan, as they compel to travel in over loaded public transport due to nonavailability of CNG.

JI Karachi Chief demanded of the Commissioner to take serious note towards the public issues and its redressal.
